Pumpkin Decorating Party

October 02, 2023

Once October hits, it’s all about Fall festivities, and one tradition you don't want to miss out on is a pumpkin carving party! A pumpkin carving party is a great way to celebrate the fall season and get into the Halloween spirit while spending quality time with loved ones!

Pumpkin carving can get really messy so bring the mess outside! Lay out disposable sheets on your outdoor patio and provide everyone with garbage bags for an easy clean up. Plan a menu that includes some yummy snacks and refreshments so that everyone has something to munch on and drink while carving out their pumpkins. You can go for a fall-themed spread with apple cider, pumpkin spice treats and simple finger foods. Create a festive atmosphere by playing Halloween music to get everyone in the fall spirit

Set up different decorating stations with various supplies so guests can get creative! Include a painting station, a carving station and a station for gluing on decorations. Gather a variety of decorating supplies such as paints, paintbrushes, markers, stickers, stencils, glitter, glue, ribbons, and any other craft materials you think your guests will enjoy. Make sure there's enough for everyone to share. If you're comfortable with pumpkin carving, you can provide carving tools and templates for those who want to carve creative intricate designs!

Before you start carving your pumpkin you want to make sure you scoop out all the seeds first. You can do this easily with an ice cream scoop or a spoon. Once all of the seeds are gone it's crucial to think of a design. Whether you want to carve a classic jack o'lantern, silly pumpkin faces or make your own unique design using a dry erase marker will help you erase any mistakes and allow you to play around with your design. Once you have drawn out your design, carve out the bigger parts first so that you can go back and clean up the small edges later.

Remember to have fun and encourage your guests to get creative with their pumpkin designs.
